Keep licence, corporate tax and VAT workstreams separate.

Each workstream has its own requirements for registration, returns, evidence and renewals. A free-zone juridical person can still be within the UAE corporate tax framework and must assess whether conditions for any preferential treatment are met.

Build from reliable books.

Record revenue, expenses, assets, payroll, related-party transactions and place of management. Tax positions should be traceable to agreements and commercial facts, not just invoices or bank narratives.

Track VAT alongside operational changes.

Monitor registration thresholds, taxable supplies, imports, exports and input tax. Changes in activity, premises, customers or group structure may affect both tax and licence analysis.

Keep the free-zone analysis current.
Qualifying status depends on conditions and activity, not the company’s address or marketing label alone.
