Record the child's age, current curriculum, language profile, learning needs, interests and likely university direction. A school that is prestigious in general may still create a poor transition for a particular learner.
Decide how much curriculum continuity matters.
Compare local, IB, Cambridge and other recognised pathways through teaching approach, assessment style, subject choice and the next likely transition. The name of the curriculum is less important than how well the school delivers it and supports the student.
Build the admissions calendar before the housing search.
Application windows, assessments, interviews, references and available places can determine the realistic start date. Keep more than one suitable school in the plan until an offer is confirmed.
