Bizfile pre-fills much of an annual return. That saves time, but it also makes stale information look official. The cleanest filing starts with the company's own records, not the screen.

Answer the practical question first
For a company team, the useful question is not whether a task appears on a calendar. It is whether the Singapore record can be matched to the correct entity, responsible person and filing evidence.
This article addresses a practical task and is not case advice. Its purpose is to show what to check first, where a reasonable person can misread the position and which evidence should remain after the task is closed.
Checks before filing or action
Before submission, work backwards from the intended result and confirm that each item supports it.
- Confirm the financial year end and company type.
- Reconcile registered office, activities, directors and secretary.
- Determine whether XBRL financial statements or a PDF set is required.
- Record the AGM position, including any exemption or dispensation.
Why cases stall here
Filing the pre-filled form without reconciling event-driven changes can repeat an old error. Some changes need their own filing before the annual return.
Run one final reverse check
Save the pre-filing checklist, final financial statements, directors' approvals and the electronic Business Profile issued after filing. The tax return remains a separate obligation.
Check the result shown by the authority, not only the screenshot of your own submission. Record any difference as an open item.
